MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University alumnus Angelo Stokes will perform tonight, November 17, at the 17th annual Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas.
Stokes, a 2014 graduate, will perform on percussion with the group Las Tres Grandes.
The Grammy Awards are being broadcast by Univision beginning at 8 p.m. The broadcast will also be streamed live at latingrammy.com
Stokes is pursuing his Master’s in jazz studies at the University of Nevada- Las Vegas and has been studying with José “Pepe” Jimenez, longtime percussionist with Carlos Santana.
Stokes has also worked with a number of artists and productions in Las Vegas, including Cirque du Soleil “One Night for One Drop” with special guest artist Leona Lewis.
“Mansfield taught me about diversity and to have an open mind,” Stokes said. “Being open to who I perform with and what I perform.”
After graduating from UNLV in May 2017, Strokes plans on moving to Los Angeles to continue his music career.
