Chamber Singers to perform Holiday Dinner Concert

MANSFIELD, PA— The Mansfield University Chamber Singers, a select 16-member ensemble under the direction of Peggy Dettwiler, will present a holiday dinner concert on Thursday December 8 at the Penn Wells Hotel in Wellsboro. web-chamber-singersThe Chamber Singers will present a program of selections focused on “Grant Us Peace” interspersed between dinner courses.

The program will include a setting of When Christ was Born of Mary Free by Eleanor Daley, the Wexford Carol, two songs of peace: one in Hebrew from the Jewish tradition and another in Urdu from the Muslim faith; a powerful setting of the text by St Francis of Assisi, Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace, and closes with a recessional on Silent Night.

The dinner, prepared by Chef Dennis Klimko, will feature Maryland crab soup as an appetizer, spring mix salad with balsamic vinegar, an entrée of chicken ferretti with artichoke hearts, roasted red tomatoes, wine and butter, with the sauce served over risotto, and chocolate pot de’creme for dessert.

The cost for dinner and concert is $40 per per person, exclusive of drinks, tax and tip.
