Mansfield’s Day at The White House

MANSFIELD, PA— Remarkable, a privilege, once-in-lifetime. Crofchick, Mansfield’s associate director of Student Life, who spearhead the application effort that earned the university the recognition, said, “It was truly a remarkable experience that I will never forget. I couldn’t be prouder to be working at a University that does all they can to see our students succeed in and outside of the classroom.”(L-R) Frank Crofchick, Christopher Homa, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Kristie Canegallo, Mark Nellenbach.“This award inspires me to do more than I ever have to make sure we continue putting our students first and giving them all the resources and tools needed to succeed and make a difference in the world,” he added.

“Being there truly made everything feel that much more real,” Homa, a Nutrition major from Tunkhannock, PA said. “That experience really reinforced idea that somebody can actually make a difference in the world. To have the privilege of participating in such an amazing opportunity is something I will be forever grateful for. It’s amazing to see the work that so many people did get such great recognition. I couldn’t be more proud of the university, students, and friends that made this happen.”(L-R) (L-R) Frank Crofchick, Christopher Homa and Mark Nellenbach outside the White House.“I am beyond thankful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend White House Healthy Campus Challenge Day for Mansfield,” Nellenbach, who graduated with a degree in Nutrition last year and is enrolled in the physicians assistant program at Lake Erie College, said. “We should all be encouraged by the tireless and unique work so many college campuses are putting in nationwide to get young people covered.”

To qualify as a “Healthy Campus,” Mansfield completed an application process, and was among 350 schools nationwide selected to participate in the White House Healthy Campus Challenge.
