MU eSports Club to Compete in ECAC eSports Championships This Weekend

MANSFIELD, PA  — The Mansfield University eSports club will be participating in the ECAC eSports Championships this weekend, March 29 and 30 at the HV GamerCon in Albany, NY. The team will compete in the League of Legends and Fortnite competitions.

In the League of Legends (LoL) competition, Mansfield, seeded at 13th, will face 4th seed Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY). Students competing in LoL for MU (with their screen name) are Griffin Stone (CrimsonBubbles), Lynley Decker (Keeper of Hades), Auguste Gum (Augum), Hunter Brown {PermaBanMeAgain3), Alex Appleby (RainbowLightining) and Riley McClure (Sams0n13).

In Fortnite, MU is seeded 11th and will face 6th seed Thomas College (Maine). Fortnite competitors are Doug Kloss (Oshelaka9) and Noah Hawthorne (hawthorne7).

Amy Delozier, Director of the Kelchner Fitness Center, serves as the clubs advisor and administrator, and student Patrick Ross is club President. Mansfield is a member of the ECAC eSports League, which now includes 23 teams. The league sponsors competitions in FIFA, Fortnite, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
