Mansfield University to Celebrate Alumni Weekend June 6-8

MANSFIELD, PA — The Mansfield University Alumni Association (MUAA) will welcome alumni & friends back to campus during its annual MU Alumni Weekend celebration June 6-8. Returning alumni will enjoy events that join together lifelong Mountaineers, celebrate alumni excellence and class anniversaries, and infuse the local community with MU Alumni pride and commerce. “MU was the launchpad for more than 30,000 alumni who are doing great things and making an impact in a variety of ways across the globe. For many, Mansfield is the place where it all began. This special place on the hill is where our alumni discovered that dreams can become reality,” Director of Alumni Relations Casey Wood ’02 said. “We look forward to welcoming our friends back to campus to enjoy a weekend filled with good times and unforgettable memories.”

Yorkholo Brewing Company will kick off the weekend-long celebration on Thursday, June 6 with the band RUST to perform at the brewing company at 8 p.m. RUST is a classic rock cover band from the Southern Tier of New York State. RUST has been on the music scene since the ’70s featuring songs from Rush to Aerosmith, Led Zepplin to Toto and beyond. RUST respectfully plays each song as their own, giving everyone in the room an invitation to have a great time and revisit the best era of rock music.

Back by popular demand will be the MU Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament, held at Corey Creek Golf Club on Friday, June 7 with a tee time of 9 a.m. This year, the MU Alumni Association will lead the golf tournament and it will feature topnotch prizes and raffle items.

Fifty-percent of all proceeds from the golf tournament will be directed to athletic scholarships. Visit mansfield.edu/alumni/events.cfm to register your foursome.

The weekend will “Come Together” for a stunning open-air concert at the Water Tower location on the campus of Mansfield University featuring Beatle Legacy, Beatlemania and Beyond: The Ultimate Experience. Beatle Legacy’s members have toured all over the world providing high-end performances that will take you back to one of the most influential music periods in our history.
