Stinebeck Resigns as Provost

MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University President Fran Hendricks has accepted the resignation of David Stinebeck as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective immediately.

“Dr. Stinebeck is grateful for the opportunity to serve as our Provost, but has told me David Stinebeckthat his own health and family concerns are increasing, along with the pressures of helping to lead this remarkable institution,” Hendricks said in making the announcement. “I note particularly David’s commitment to serving Mansfield University and improving its academic programs, and wish him well as he becomes a member of the Department of English and Modern Languages in the spring term. In the remaining weeks of this term, he will oversee, on special assignment, the Education Advisory Board’s customized research project focusing on the improvement of our retention of all groups of students past the second year to graduation.”

Before being named Provost last May, Stinebeck served as Interim Provost for five months and Interim Associate Provost and Dean of Arts & Sciences at MU for 18 months prior to that.
