MANSFIELD, PA— The Laugh in Peace Tour will stop at Steadman Theatre on Thursday, January 22 at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The performance features Muslim-Jewish-Christian stand-up comedy starring Rabbi Bob Alper, Reverend Susan Sparks and Mo Amer in a celebration of diversity.
“This tag team approach to stand-up comedy is very entertaining and very funny with a powerful message of peace, love and understanding both our differences and our commonalities,” Steve Plesac, director of Student Activities and Student Programming, said. “As the rock music artist Elvis Costello once said, ‘What’s so funny about Peace, Love, and Understanding?’ Well on this evening quite a bit actually. But they don’t poke fun at religions but instead they do poke fun at the way Jews behave, at the way Muslims behave, and the way Christians behave. We are proud to present this caliber of live comedy with a message.”
