MANSFIELD, PA— Cadillac Moon Ensemble will perform in concert on Monday, March 10, 7:30 p.m. at Steadman Theatre. The concert is free and open to the public.
Dedicated to retaining the intimacy and artistry of traditional chamber music while exploring the expansive sonic possibilities presented by its unique instrumentation (flute, violin, cello, and percussion), Cadillac Moon Ensemble has commissioned and premiered over 50 works since its formation in 2007. In the process the quartet has cultivated close relationships and ongoing collaborations with many of New York City’s most talented emerging composers.
Comprised of violinist Patti Kilroy, Roberta Michel on flute, cellist Meaghan Burke and Sean Statser on percussion, Cadillac Moon Ensemble released their first full CD, Atlas, in September 2012. The ensemble was also featured on the critically acclaimed release of Zack Browning’s Secret Pulse in 2012.
In its mission to work closely with composers throughout the creative process, Cadillac Moon Ensemble works frequently with student composers. After their MU performance there will be a reception and panel discussion with the group.
