MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University Social Work students are collecting new and gently used books for elementary age children to be donated to the CONCERN Foster Care Unit in Wellsboro.
“Reading is a good way to stimulate the brain and we want to give all the children that we can that opportunity,” Social Work major Alexis Snyder said. “Reading also increases the likelihood of a child completely school, which increases chances of a successful career.”
Snyder, Shawna Cassidy, Candice Kratzer and Chelsea McCutcheon, all members of Assistant Professor Mary Daly’s Community and Organization class, are leading the effort.
