Radiology Technology Program Receives Accreditation

MANSFIELD, PA— The Joint Review Committee on Education in radiologyRadiologic Technology (JRCERT) has granted accreditation to the Mansfield University Radiology Technology Program. The accreditation is for eight years.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our radiology faculty,” Kathy Wright, chair of the Department of Health Sciences, said. “It’s so wonderful that they are reaccredited for the maximum number of years and have achieved JRCERT’s highest level of accreditation.”

The Radiology Technology Program is a full-time, two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program. It is a collaborative program with The MU Department of Health Sciences and the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. Students spend the first semester on the campus at Mansfield and the remaining three semesters plus two summer sessions at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, where they complete classroom and clinical experience.

JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry. Specialized accreditation awarded by the JRCERT offers institutions significant value by providing peer evaluation and by assuring the public of quality professional education in the radiologic sciences.
