MANSFIELD, PA-Mansfield University will present Shrek The Musical on February 25-28 at Straughn Hall.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage, and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.
Professor Sheryl Monkelien is producer and music director, Assistant Professor Todd Ranney is stage director and 1993 MU graduate Peter Davis is technical director. Also assisting are MU alumnus Erika VanGorden ’14, choreographer, Brandon Russell ’14, sound, and Cole Black ’15, stage manager.

Performances will be Thursday, February 25, Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 28 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $6 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased online or at the door one hour before performances. MU students with valid ID will be admitted free.
Shrek The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
The production is funded in part through student activity fees.
