Earth Day at Mill Cove to be held April 26

MANSFIELD, PA— The third annual Earth Day at Mill Cove (EDMC) Earth Day at Mill Covewill be held on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Mill Cove Environmental Area north of Mansfield. The event is free and open to the public.

EDMC will feature a full day of activities and presentations suitable for all ages. Fishing rods, canoes, kayaks, archery equipment and safety gear will be provided. Hiking shoes and rain gear are recommended.

This year’s celebration will feature the Canyon Country Reptiles with shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and displays all day.

Phantom Entertainment will operate a zip line, you must be between 60 and 250 pounds to participate, and Remote Intelligence from Wellsboro will be giving a demonstration of drone technology.

Also, the Army National Guard climbing wall will be onsite for participants ages 14 and up. Participants between the ages of 14-17 will require parental consent.  

EDMC will host an array of vendors that will be showcasing their knowledge and skills on all things related to our natural environment.

On-site parking is available but is limited. A free shuttle bus will run every half-hour beginning at 9:30 a.m., leaving from parking lot behind the Sandra Link Child Care Center, 125 Wilson Ave. on the MU campus and from the North Main Street Plaza. Those attending the event are invited to park in the lots and ride the shuttle to and from Mill Cove.
