MANSFIELD, PA— Scott Henry, a 1984 Mansfield graduate, has been named Director of Police Services and Safety at Mansfield University. Henry will also serve as Director of the Municipal Police Academy hosted At MU.
“Scott’s vast experience in law enforcement, and as an instructor at our Police Academy, make him a great choice to lead our current campus police force and the future police officers of the Commonwealth,” Interim President Scott Barton said in making the announcement.
“I am proud to be a member of the MU Team, and I am pleased that my over 31 years in law enforcement has afforded me this opportunity,” Henry said. “Mansfield is where it all started for me 37 years ago, and to come back and have the opportunity to work and interact with our youth in my new capacity pleases me beyond words. My intent is to modernize our Police Department in all applicable training and equipment possible, and to promote, enhance, and recruit for our Academy to the extent that our Academy is considered the finest in the Commonwealth.”
Before accepting the position at Mansfield, Henry worked seven years as a Detective in the Tioga County, PA District Attorney’s Office. He also served 20 years as a Pennsylvania State Trooper and has experience as a criminal investigator in Montoursville, as a police officer in Williamsport, as well as experience in corporate security.
Henry has served as instructor at the Municipal Police Academy for the past 17 years.
