Foundation Increases Scholarship Support for Students

MANSFIELD, PA— The Mansfield University Foundation has Foundationannounced that scholarship funds have increased by more than $200,000 for next year’s incoming class for a total of over a half a million dollars.

“Through the magnanimous efforts of our alumni, friends, MU employees and corporate partners who have invested not only to help secure the promise of Mansfield University, but also to help secure the dreams of thousands of Mounties who aspired to pursue their educational goals at Mansfield University, we have seen scholarship funds that have grown and prospered over the past 40 years,” Mindy Engel, executive director, said.

The Foundation currently manages more than 200 scholarship awards with varying criteria established by donors. Some focus on areas of study, while others focus on academic achievement, community leadership or providing financial aid to those who need it most, such as a financially independent junior at MU who is struggling to get through college as a first generation college student. Without the assistance of scholarships, they would not be able to reach their education and career goals.

There are a number of ways you can assist deserving students, including supporting Mansfield University’s Annual Fund with your unrestricted gift, establishing a gift endowment, making a bequest, donating excess retirement funds, establishing a charitable trust or other planned gift,” Engel said. “Whether it is a result of one inspired moment or a series of experiences culminating in the desire to give back to MU, one thing is certain: your generosity is a measure of our success.”
